The Gisborne Genealogical Group brings together people from across the Macedon Ranges with a shared interest in family history research.

The Group holds informative talks and maintains a collection of family history resources in the room adjoining the Gisborne Library.

Gisborne Library Renovation

In a very exciting update, we can announce that the Macedon Ranges Shire Council have approved a massive rejuvenation of the space we've called home for the last few years.

In the second quarter of 2026 our room that was 'adjacent' to the Library will become directly accessible from the Library, separated by glass wall, and our resources will again be available whenever the Gisborne Library is open after the renovation is completed mid-2026.

We will see new furniture, new shelving, and a totally rejuvenated space with purpose built computer workstation and fiche reader facilities.  There will be pace to spread out and share your family history stories and enhanced audio visual facilities for our monthly meetings.

FamilySearch Affiliate Library

The Gisborne Genealogical Group is now a FamilySearch Affiliate Library.

Affiliate libraries have access to additional FamilySearch digital records not available outside FamilySearch family history centres. These digital records include images and names indexes. Currently, there are about 400 million original records available in a digital format that affiliate libraries have access to.
